French Fry Cutter
It Sucks. Purchased one on Sunday, took it home and tried to cut a russet potato. Was very disappointed at the effort it took to cut a potato. Monday I tried to cut 5 pounds of potatos. By the time I was done, Iwas wore out and glad to have all my fingers. I washed it, boxed it and returned it to the store. Have been very happy with other Lem's products.
You need a lot of muscle to use this device! No way could my wife force even a small potato through this slicer. I have a hard time doing so myself. The slicer is too low for countertop use. The sliced fries usually overshoot a catchplate. One has to put a large bowl in an adjacent sink to catch all the fries. The commercial version is obviously a better choice but the price prohibits purchase for occasional home use. This product could use some improvements.
I am dissapointed in this product, the larger cut will work for only small potatoes and I could not get any to cut using the smaller blades. Sorry I wasted $ on this, have had good luck with other products from LEM but would not recommend this item.
French Fri Cutter
i DONT KNOW WHAT i DID BEFORE RECIEVING THIS AS A GIFT FOR MOTHERS DAY. I USE THE FRENCH FRI CUTTER TO CUT MY POTATOES FOR POTATOE SALAD THEY COOK MORE EVENLY.I USE IT ON CARROTS,SQUACH,ALL KINS OF VEGGIES. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST FRENCH FRIES.I JUST ORDERED A REPLACEMENT PART FOR THE LARGE CUTTER. I HAVE WORN OUT TWO. THERE ARE OTHER BRANDS BUT NOTHING CAN TOUCH THE LEM. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Small Chunks Required
Product will not work on a large Idaho potato unless the potato is quartered or cut into smaller chunks to feed into the cutter.
Better than most for the price
This cutter works just fine. Main thing is to be sure you have blades and pusher block LOCKED in position. And, of course, the quality of the potato makes a difference in how well it cuts.
