Works Very Well - there's a trick to it
Because of dietary reasons, I use mostly sweet potatoes which are tougher than most other potatoes......through trial and error I discovered how to easily use this machine. I first peel the potatoes and then cut off the ends so that each end is flat....I then prick them with a fork and microwave them for 1 to 2 minutes depending on their size....this makes them much easier, with less effort to push through the machine. You want to be careful to not over microwave them or you'll end up with semi-mashed potatoes.....I'm very happy with this cutter. I gave it 4 stars only because it is a little awkward to operate and a little more effort to clean, but this is also the engineering nature of the beast.

Buyer Be Ware!!
I have an older model of the cutter (#685) and did not check that model number against the model these cutter blades fit, primarily because they look the same in the catalog but alas, they are not. My Bad!!! Had to return them. The cost of shipping them back was double the cost paid my LEM so this turned out to be a major blunder.
