Great concept wish it lived up to the look
I bought 2 LEM dehydrators and within 1 year both broke. I contacted the warranty department and to my dismay I had to ship back the dehydrator at my cost. I live in Canada so this was way to expensive. The warranty guys tried to help on the phone and thought maybe one of the special fuses in the back as it was blowing cold air. Sent me the part. We had a HVAC person look at it to install the fuse. It was not the fuse but the Heating coils on one of them . He replaced the heating coil with the coils from the one that had a separate problem. I got a hold of the warranty department to let them know and ask for another set. They want to charge me for the set. Why because you can only get one thing shipped to you ! So I had my freebee and that was a fuse. Plus I was told I voided the warranty by having someone work on it. Plus was told I was using it for commercial making dog treats. Please dont waste your $500.00 on this unit. There are many others out there that will work for you and not have such ridiculous customer service. So disappointed in something that should have lasted for years.

Big Bite Digital SS Dehydrator with Stainless Steel Trays
I'm a retired aircraft metal-smith and I was very impressed with the attention to detail and preciseness of your construction. I tested my unit out one day after receiving it. I made 15 Lbs. of jerky. It all turned out fantastic and was whisper quiet throughout the drying process. Using the digital panel to set the temp and drying time was a breeze. Every thing about this product worked as advertised. I was so impressed with it I gave away 2 other name brand dehydrators I owned to my hunting friends. I would make 2 recommendations to LEM. (1) They shorten the screw length for the 4 screws that attach the fan guard to pert-rude only 3 threads vice 24. (2) The unit I purchased has both Stainless steel trays and a Stainless steel drip tray, the Use and Maintenance manual, Page 10 , Cleaning section states to wash in warn soapy water and Do Not Soak The Trays. this statement must be for your steel trays and not for the stainless steel trays. The wording needs to reflect the difference between the two types of metal trays. I would like to see a revision to all your dehydrators be made. whereas the Whole Heating, Fan Assembly. and fan guard be made as a standalone unit. That unit would be able to be attached to the main box Assembly using the flange method like you have incorporated for the front panel. That would make replacement of failed parts a lot easier for repair and or replacement.

Nice Size dehydrator, but lacking in performance and the chrome trays rust
I bought this after my red head brand professional dehydrator stopped working right. I used it initially and thought the construction was good, and I liked how much I could do at one time. 3 months later I am noticing that the air circulation is not as good as it initially was, and the chrome plated racks rust. Cleaning the racks is tedious enough if you don't have a dishwasher they will fit in, but needing a 3 step process, and more to use the racks is a hassle. Currently I leave the racks to soak a little to loosen the dried on marinade from the jerky I make in the dryer. Then I use a soft brush to scrub and get any residue and food particles off them. Now after 3 months I need to go over all of them, 2 sided cleaning with steel wool to remove the rust, and then work into nooks and crannies of the trays to get the rust. I call LEM products, and they recommend doing everything I am doing , then putting the racks in the dehydrator for 30 minutes to fully dry them, and buying a food grade silicon spray to treat the trays to prevent rust. Then if you use the silicon spray, you need to wash the trays again before making any thing in the dehydrator. IF you can get this with the stainless steel racks it will save a lot of time, but this won't stop you from needing to rotate the trays since the upper and lower ones don't seem to get the same air flow as the middle ones do when making jerky. Over all construction seems nice, the drip tray is great, but the work to keep the trays clean and rust free is too much. I also wish it had air circulation like the RED HEAD brand dehydrator did, I hate having to be home to rotate the trays in the middle of making a batch of jerky.

Food Dehydrator
I got this for my wife to replace our old Cabela's one. It is so quiet you don't hear it running. She has done all kinds of fruits and vegetables and I've made a bunch jerky. It's twice as fast as the old one and holds slot more. We love it. Thanks LEM !
