5 pound sausage stuffer
Very pleased with my purchase. It has allowed me to make outstanding summer sausage and brats. I don't need to pay the meat processor to do this now! I would highly recommend purchasing this entry level piece of equipment if you are interested in making your own treats. Works flawlessly.

GREAT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT
CAN NOT BELIEVE THE QUALITY & PERFORMANCE. SAUSAGE STUFFING IS NOW A BREEZE.
Well worth the investment
I bought this after struggling with a KitchenAid blender attachment, which allowed me to stuff 10lbs of meat in an evening; and a horn-style stuffer which allowed the same 10lbs of meat to stuff in two evenings; to this powerhouse, which allowed me to stuff 28lbs of meat in a HALF AN HOUR (and a third of that time was spent putting on new casings). Money well spent, a huge time saver for me. There is one small downside - and it is the same problem with the horn-style stuffer: the stuffer needs a hefty base. I made one out of three layers of 1x10 oak, and it extended a few inches on all 4 edges, thinking it would give more stability and weight. However, it still requires a second person to stabilize it, although, if you have a countertop with an extended edge, you can use a C-clamp. The base comes with holes for this purpose (or you can bolt it into your countertop if that is how your kitchen is set up). Nevertheless, cranking the crank is a breeze. Anyone using a horn style stuffer will appreciate the ability to crank with just a finger or two - it just seems surreal. There seems to be a complaint from another review about the perceived "flimsy" side pillars - no way. Just... no. I've stuffed over 300lbs of meat since I got this unit, and not once did I have a problem using it. There are no cheap parts, no cut corners on the design - it's durable, attractive, easy to clean, and easy to use. There is no other on the market that comes close to the quality of this unit.
This is the second time I have wrote this review, can't seem to find the other one on here. I purchased the 5 lb. stuffer and it is very disappointing. While making sausage the " pillers" supports, whatever you want to call them, bend so badly the seal on the stuffer pops out. You have to keep bending them back to keep the plunger vertical. The problem is the very thin metal used as a bottom bends very easily. I was going to send it back, and still may. But a added larger washers under the bottom, and it helped some. But I am going to try and make a heavy steal plate that will attach underneath the bottom. I feel people should hear the not so positive ( real life) reviews also. But believe that is why it is not posted here , as they will only post the very positive ones. It works, but it's flimsy and you got to watch how you turn the handle so as not to tourque it.

The New 5LB Sausage Stuffer W/steel Gears and stainless steel stuffing tubes
I have wanted one of these for the longest time, when I saw the new 5LB Stuffer W/ steel gears I decided to purchase it. I'm glad I did, it works flawlessly with ease and it's all power. I've had it for about 3+ weeks now and I've made over 20 Lbs of sausage with it and doing another 15 Lbs tomorrow. I recommend this item to anyone wanting to make sausage at home, you will not be disappointed. This Stuffer definitely is worth every penny and I rate it 5 stars.
