One word to describe this product. EASY!
Definitely a must for anyone that is going to process a deer. LOVE IT. I would give it six stars if there was a selection for it.
Recently bought a Big Bite # 8 grinder and tenderizer attachment and was blown away by the quality of both. The fit and finish as well as the power of the grinder is impressive. You can tell that the people and the company care about what they do. I'm glad I purchased LEM.
Another must have
And like everything else from LEM, top quality and well built. Buy it as soon as you can. Makes chicken fried steak like you buy in the grocery store...
LEM,s Tenderizer attachment
Just purchased LEM's tenderizer to fit my grinder because my Hobart Cuber quit working. For the money , It did Okay , ( I guess I'm use to a heavier cuber with more teeth). I wish LEM would come up with a unit that was heavier, closer teeth and built along the platform as their current one. Even if the price was quite a bit higher, it would probably sale better and please those of us who have used a heavy duty cuber.
Cannot believe I waited this long to purchase the cuber/slicer. I'm very skeptical about purchasing any equipment on line without first putting my hands on it but happy that I did. You cannot feed this machine fast enough, use to cut all my jerky with a slicer and it took hours, you can literally slice ten pound of jerky within minutes. The cuber will make tender steaks out of any cut of deer meat. Very impressed with the ease of use, cleanup and construction of this attachment.
Strips meat like a dream
I am a beginner when it comes to processing meat but I jump in with both feet. We just finished "hosting" ours and friends pigs at our little farm. After a great increase of size and lessons in butchering, the processing and packaging fell into my inexperienced hands. Without the equipment I received from LEM I do not see how I could have made beautiful little packages for all of our freezers out of 6 big pigs. This 2 in 1 Jerky Tenderizer/Slicer was on my Christmas list, and I am thankful it was delivered early! I got creative and made pork jerky out of a couple of roasts, plus dug elk roasts out of the deep freeze also. I could not imagine trying to slice all this by hand, but it was easy to feed the pieces in and let this baby do all the work. Occasionally a piece or two would not slice completely through but that was just a small inconvenience. Thank you LEM!
Slicer works great, the cuber works ok but it really needs to have some more blades in it you have to run meat through too many times to do a good job. All in all, it's ok. Would really do a better job with more blades spaced closer together.
Better than a hammer. No doubt about it.
Bought one of these to tenderize cheaper cuts of beef steak. Mounted to my B/Bite LEM #8 grinder, this tenderizer does a pretty good job of tenderizing. Much better than a Jaccard needle tenderizer or a kitchen hammer type. Only one little problem did I have to rectify for the wife in the machine's hand washing of its parts. Its meat combs (back) had a sharp edge on one side being their stamped from sheet stainless. Simple 5 minute light hand filing of the combs (back) with my Nicholson File resolved the problem. I choose not to bring this sharp edge issue to LEM as a complaint as it was a very simple fix for me to resolve. Other than that, this tenderizer is the perfect addition to anyone's LEM grinder. "Have steak dinners once a week now. Thank to LEM's tenderizer." A Five Star Rating earned. No doubt about it.
I use this to slice deer jerky while my son butterflies the tenderloin. Then just switch the blades and tenderize the steaks. Very easy to use! Definitely clean up soon after using. I spray some of LEMs grinder food grade spray on before I store it.
Works excellent, well built
I confess the price put me off at first, until I actually used it. This thing is built like a tank and works like a dream. It is now a prized possession in my kitchen arsenal. Well worth the cost. I mostly use it for tenderizing, but have used the jerky slicer too and it works pretty slick. One bit of advice, take it apart and thoroughly rinse/spray the blade assembly clean immediately after use. I mean really immediately. Don't even wait a few minutes. Right after you turn it off. If you let it start to dry before rinsing it thoroughly clean you might need to disassemble the blade assembly for cleaning-- which is a pain. There is a youtube video out there to walk you through that process if you need it.
Accessory to LEM MEAT Grinder
Bought this as an upgrade from my Cabela's hand crank meat tenderizer. Construction is heavy duty and is an definite upgrade to the LEM .25 HP Electric Meat Grinder.
