REQUEST FOR REPAIR OF RECALLED 5 TRAY DEHYDRATOR – MODEL #1009

LEM Products Distribution, LLC (LEM) is voluntarily recalling model 1009 5 tray dehydrators. The fan can fail causing the unit to overheat and pose a fire hazard. The recall is being done in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

First, you need to confirm that you have the product model being recalled. Please look at the label on the back panel of the dehydrator (see below pictures of the label) and confirm that the label states “LEM 5 Tray Dehydrator Model No. 1009”.

One of the two labels below is on the back panel. Address also could read: LEM Products West Chester OH 45011.

All Model 1009 5 Tray Dehydrators that have already been repaired have a sticker on the back panel next to the label above that reads “Read Manual Before Using”. You can also check the UPC code. If the code is 734494910094 then the unit has been repaired.

Please confirm that you do not have this sticker on your unit. Upon confirmation that you have a Model 1009 5 Tray Dehydrator without the sticker, then please complete the following information to repair your unit free of charge.

We ask that you immediately unplug the unit and stop using it until it has been repaired.

Upon receipt of your information LEM Products Distribution will send a postage paid label and instructions for returning your Model #1009 - 5 Tray Dehydrator for a Free Recall Repair.

We are aware of the inconvenience this may cause and we apologize. We are committed to providing safe dependable food processing equipment.

In an effort to demonstrate our commitment to safe, dependable products, we are extending the warranty on all 1009 dehydrators for 1 year from the effective date of the recall, that is until May 2, 2014. We also are giving you a $10 credit, with an expiration of May 2, 2014, to be used on the purchase of any LEM products.
